Supervisory Development Programme |
In 2005, 11 Corin staff took part in
our Supervisory Development Programme. The programme
included a total of seven modules and ran for 11 months. The
modules included Leadership Skills, Communicating to
Influence, Coaching and Developing Staff, Managing
Performance and Difficult People and Managing Change. Both
theoretical and practical aspects were included in the
course and the programme concluded with presentations on a
number of "change" projects. |
The aim of the programme was to
provide our |
Supervisors with a range of skills,
enabling them to manage their teams effectively and the
programme also gave them the tools to move forward with
change projects. |

Support System |
Effective networks were established
as a support system for participants throughout the course
programme. After each training module our Supervisors had to
prepare an action plan and implement it into their day to
day work activities and then report back to the group on how
the plan had worked out. This helped them analyse their
progress and implement their objectives into their everyday
working environment. |
Within their project groups they
identified a business |
specific project which they had to
present on completion of the course and they were asked to
focus on “people and their development in the work place”.
The projects are still ongoing and all the groups are
implementing their plans and making good progress. |

Building Relationships |
The group felt that a big benefit of
the programme was in developing new improved networks and
working relationships across all areas of the business.
Additionally participants gained an improved understanding
of other teams priorities and objectives and this has had a
positive effect in the work place. |
